Today

  • Mood:
is the day that you need to present you work that you have done so far on your rugs.  If you have the time let me know what your thinking as you hook.  I am hooking one of my friends rugs Brenis Thompson's "Folky Love".  I bought this a while back and it is just yelling at me to do it.  So to slience this pattern it is getting done.  I am really really enjoying this pattern.  The colors are not what I would normally use in a rug but I bet I do now or in the future.   Thanks Bren for making me squirm.  Cheryl

I will be here at 2:00 central time today.  If no one shows up in the chat room then I will  close it  down at 2:15PM.  Cheryl

Getting Close to Hook-In time

  • Mood:
Starting the last two weekends of April will be our getting it together days.  I will have the chat open for awhile if you need any help.  I am thinking about 10-11 am and then 1-2 pm on Saturday.  You can check the calendar as often as you need.

Boy I have put a lot of work in this and have had multiple issues with website and everything.  My hubby is feeling really sick so he is fussy but he does so much for me.  I hope that there are a few of you that join the Hook-in.  I can't go to real ones so this is my only outlet and if it doesn't then we will try again at a  later date.  But signin's haven't started so we will see.
My two Doxies, Rosey and Copper, are not happy unless they are laying behind my back in my chair while I am at the computer.  Rosey is her Daddy's baby and it is so funny because he lets her kiss him and she sleeps right in the bend of his legs every night.  Well this household is having a hard day with trying to get out orders and swap requirements.  I have a post office box full of items to be sent out. I am going to be working on my big Peaceful Living Series Large master rug for the hook-in.  That is going to be so much fun and it is going to take a while.  Have a blessed day Cheryl

The Virtual Hook-in with a Chat room

  • Mood:
Guess what I found out today!  I can have a free chat room for our Hook-In.  That way if you have questions of any kind, or whatever we can pick a time to chat and there we can talk and ask questions or just visit.

I have decided that the hook-in will start sometime at the end of April or the very first of May.  Remember if you sign up and buy one of my patterns for the hook-in you will get 25% off your pattern.  You will need to get your pattern before the hook-in starts.  If you need wool Tammy at Skiptomyewe has offered to kit our patterns if you want or you can use your own wool.  We might even have a few swaps.

There will also be prizes nice ones.  There will be a prize for each different size.  The smaller the pattern is about a $10.00  prize and as you go up the prize will increase.  I will give surprises based on category of your pattern.  The biggest pattern of mine is the Large Master Aviary Rug pattern and it will bring about $40.00 prize.  Only thing though is you have to post your pictures on a weekly bases so we can see your progress.  This is all about getting it done.  I will be hooking with you so I will be on the same schedule as you.

Please don't hesitate to comment or give suggestions.  Also don't forget to sign up for my newsletter at my main store.

By the way I have an Etsy store but haven't had a chance to put much in it.  I don't even know what the link is.   But if your looking at my main site www.nanaswoolencottage.com it is all there too.  To get to that just click on the link on the left hand side of this page where it says "SITE"

Current Rug-In-Progress and virtual hook-in

  • Mood:
This is one of my County Flowers Pattern #3 located in my store under other patterns.  I am loving this rug.  Really easy to do and I am using nothing but worms.  I may have to cut some more for the background but we will see.  This will give you and idea about how the virtual hook-in will look like except you can send me pictures and I can load them for you.  That way we can all see how this virtual hook-in is going to work.  I think it will be fun.

You need to let me know what you want to work on.  You can pick any of my rugs and I will give you 25% off for the hook-in.  Only thing is you have to agree to post pictures of your work in progress every week and let us know how things are going through this blog. I am hoping that this will motivate some of us to get hooking.  I hope to have this virtual hook-in set up by the middle of April.  So jump in and join me.  Here is a picture of my current work in progress.

Have a Blessed Day Cheryl

Nana's Woolen Cottage Blog and Hook-In

  • Mood:

I finally have a blog.  The one on my website isn’t what I wanted for a blog so I went outside to get it and it is free.  This DIYeStore is really easy to use and if you need HTML added they do it for your.  They are very nice people.

To begin with I thought I would post one of my patterns that I am working on and let you get the feel of hooking one of my rugs.

As soon as I finish the one I am on I will start with the big new Peaceful Living Rug and if you want to join and go along with me that would be so much fun.  That way if you have any problems we can help each other.  But first I have to get the wool ready for that, so I will be working on that behind the scenes

If you want to join me I can give you a discount on the rug I am working on at the time if you are going to hook along with me.  If you need the wool let me know, if we beg Angela she might kit us some wool, or we could dye it ourselves together, or we could get Tammy from Skiptomyewe to help us out.  There are tons of options to choose from.  We could also use our own wool.  Anyway you would like it.

Anyway, I will be posting pictures of the rug I am working on under work in progress or it maybe rug in progress maybe even here in the blog.  We can post our pictures together if you will send me a picture once a week or so.  Wow our first online HOOK In!

You are also welcome to comment on my Blog, ask questions anything.
